I just wanted to let you know I did my first roast on my 8lb. drum yesterday. It went really well. I was able to get the universal rottisserie to work with a little modifying. I tried to follow the 6lb. drum roast profile from the roasting guide. I did experiance a uneven roast for my first try, but the coffee was still, delicious! It is very exciting roasting with this system. My cooling tray will blow the beans up in the air if its not on low! Otherwise the fans air swirling motion actually stirs the beans like there was a sweeper arm. I cant wait to give it another go. I can really see a perfect profile that will easily be developed with a few more times. Thanks alot and I'll get you out some photos soon. Jay S.
Hi,
I whole heartily agree! I bought a motor off of Ron and what a difference it makes. the shipping was super fast and all questions were answered promptly. I am really enjoying BBQ roasting!
It’s been a while since I bought my roaster. Great work, have been having good times & roasting plenty of coffee. I have even had it reviewed by the crew at Royal NY, who loved what I sent them.
Shane, got the roaster up and running this past weekend, did a burn in and
two batches on Sunday (1 pound and 2 pound) and then had to hurry off to
other things. Last night i put the the roaster to work and roasted 15
pounds in about 2.5 hours! however i had to take about 20 minutes to make
some adjustments to the rotisserie rod, it must have been off center because
it was clicking pretty loudly. the largest batch i did was 3 pounds, wow i
am loving this thing already, and once i bump it up to 4 pounds things will
move much quicker. give me a few weeks of using this and i will write a
complete review you can share with others, i went to bed last night feeling
great that i had roasted a weeks worth of orders in a little over 2 hours,
and the coffee was packaged, labeled and ready to go to the store, and i
don't have to think about it until next week. Thanks for a great product
and excellent support.
I have been roasting for 3 years as a hobby and many of my family members and friends have suggested that I should start to sell my coffee. Within the second year of sales, my first roaster could not keep up with the overwhelming demand of Tom’s Best Coffee. I have since upgraded to the premium RK Drum Roaster, which allows me to produce my product more efficiently. My customers can tell a big difference in the quality of my roast. I not only recommend this roaster but I give a A+ to Shane for his customer service.
