Shane, got the roaster up and running this past weekend, did a burn in and
two batches on Sunday (1 pound and 2 pound) and then had to hurry off to
other things. Last night i put the the roaster to work and roasted 15
pounds in about 2.5 hours! however i had to take about 20 minutes to make
some adjustments to the rotisserie rod, it must have been off center because
it was clicking pretty loudly. the largest batch i did was 3 pounds, wow i
am loving this thing already, and once i bump it up to 4 pounds things will
move much quicker. give me a few weeks of using this and i will write a
complete review you can share with others, i went to bed last night feeling
great that i had roasted a weeks worth of orders in a little over 2 hours,
and the coffee was packaged, labeled and ready to go to the store, and i
don't have to think about it until next week. Thanks for a great product
and excellent support.
Hi Ron,
I wish the forum had dates, so I could remember when I bought your drum (#7 IS a lucky number). Anyway, I'm still roasting away in Wyoming, and am still thrilled at
the roaster and results I get from it.
Bought a real espresso machine this summer, and maybe that is where the rubber hits the road, because I probably have the best espresso and regular coffee in this whole state.
I hope you are selling lots of these things, I'd hate to think others are missing out.
Thanks again for having such a great idea.
Is totally awesome! I roasted 2 pounds of coffee this afternoon after receiving your drum.
The first 2 pounds turned out near perfect! You have definitely taken home roasting to a new level. The quality of your drum was exceptional. I must say the quality was far above what I had expected. I can now look forward to roasting at home. I had been dreading roasting, because I could only do 1/3 cup batches before with my air roaster. It took me about 8-10 batches to roast enough for the Mrs. and I for the week. Chris Hartman
I've had my RK Drum for less than a month and just love it! Just
minutes ago I also ordered the 50rpm drive motor. Silly thing just
happened to me today. I was looking at my stash and trying to come up
with a blend. I had completely forgotten that I have other methods of
roasting available to me (popper..iRoast..hg/db..sc/to) and was becoming
frustrated because I was thinking in terms of roasting pounds instead of
ounces to make the trial blend. Duhhhhhh! I love my RK Drum. I love
my RK Drum. I love my RK Drum.
Have I mentioned..... I LOVE my RK Drum.
