Buying Advice:
There are many methods to cool your beans, but this cooler should be used if you are looking for a clean, easy and attractive way to cool your beans. Looks professional, built to last and works really well at cooling your beans after the roast, while separating chaff and collecting it in a separate tray. Note that due to its motorized cooling vanes, this cooler cools and removes chaff automatically and significantly better than the basic version, allowing you to attend to the next roast without bothering with stirring. Method of Operation and Features: Utilizing a High-Powered cooling fan, the unit is capable of moving 1300 Cubic Feet of air per minute through the hopper. This method, utilizing suction pulls the heat and chaff from the coffee as it is poured into the top hopper. This unit has been gauged successfully with 6Lb's of coffee, removing all heat to ambient in 3 minutes, and removing all chaff if stirring is employed. 8Lb cooling is very capable with slightly increased cooling times. Upon reaching the desired temperature, a latch is flipped and the coffee is unloaded with the handle via tilting the hopper over manually to unload in a container of choice. While the unit is split, the chaff collection screen is exposed. It is recommended to remove the chaff after each unloading via forced air or vacuum. The Motorized stirring vanes provides unattended cooling and chaff removal. The vanes improve on the basic cooler by removing heat at a 25% greater capacity and automatically removing 95% of all chaff. The unit stands approximately average mid-thigh height to promote ease of use and comfort. The cooling fan is a continuous-duty, high temperature fan that robustly fits this application and will provide years of day-to-day operation. The unit also employs caster wheels so that it can be rolled from storage and used. The wheels lock so that mild inclines will not be a problem. A heavy duty stainless power switch is employed on the unit's side to power on. Upon turning on the switch, motorized stirring vanes start and begin to agitate the coffee which facilitates in cooling by breaking up the bean mass. This also helps separate the heat and assists in removing the chaff. With a lifetime warranty on structure, 1 yr on motors/fans....the all-welded 304 stainless construction lives up to the RK reputation of quality and durability. |
