we just recently purchased the 6 lb everything kit. my question is that we also purchased the longest rod you have…when placing it through the drum…only about a half inch or an inch is visible on the end of the rod. there are little round notches on the rod in two different places…do those come off…or should my drum fit near the side edge of the grill?
