First roast uneven

My first roast came out uneven. I used the brinkmann rotisserie , not sure of the RPMs . My beans came out dark, brown and light brown. I only roasted 1lb for about 25 mins,
Any advice or recommendations would be helpful.
Thanks
Mike

Morning Mike

Couple of things. 25 minutes is way too long for any drum/roast. You probably need to be down to about 10-13 mins to finish which means you aren’t roasting hot enough. (Remind me. Which drum/thermometer you’re using?). If you’re using a built in thermometer that likely explains that discrepancy. Slow RPM also contributes to uneven roasts, as well as low heat.

My recommendation: make sure you’re using a dedicated thermometer to verify temperature, and try your roast at 470 and adjust the heat to arrive at a 12min second/finish. Try and get your rpms a minimum of 6rpm and preferably 40-60 for ideal uniformity.
