Hey, Shane - been a long time since you’ve heard from me. I sold my Diedrich IR-12 a year ago last October and was simply bereft at not roasting coffee any longer. One thing led to another, and would you believe I bought back the 8 Lb “experimental” drum that Ron sold me way back when?! I have moved from Port Angeles, WA and am now living in Bellevue, WA. My son has a fine cabinet shop up in Woodinville, so I’ll be roasting there just for myself and a few friends and family.
I am now, of course, fighting with the chain/pin scenario and just looked at what was on your site about the new latch sysem. It’s hard for me to see exactly how it works - for some reason the photos on your site won’t load up. The door on the end of this drum that Ron built overhangs the perforated side of the drum a bit. Will I have to have my son grind off a bit of the door so that the edges of both are even? Hope you can understand what I mean - it’s a little hard to describe. I can take a photo if you need me to. Thanks so much!
