It’s arrived! I think it’s the same 57rpm motor Ron is using but there seems to be no wiring diagram..

I’ve got brown and blue going to a clip, and red and brown seperate. What goes where?

I had the same problem last week when I got my motor in. I looked around on the web and could not find a diagram. So, I took an educated guess and it worked. I have roasted nearly 40 pounds over the last week with no trouble on the motor, so I think I got the wiring correct.

Here goes the “text” version of the wiring diagram:

  1. The red and brown separate: With the screw hole side of the capacitor facing towards you, clip the brown one on the left side of the capacitor and the red one on the right side of the capacitor.

  2. I cut off the clip joining the brown and blue wire. The brown wire connects to the white wire of your cord going to the outlet. The blue wire is attached to the top of the on/off switch and the black wire of your cord going to the outlet is attached to the bottom of the switch.

Boy, I hope that makes sense.

Capasitor? I thought that was built in!! I don’t HAVE one!! ****! Now what?

My motor came with a what I think is the capacitor. If not, then I don’t know what it is. At any rate, IT IS black and rectangular and has a screw mount on one side. It also has a place to hook up 2 wires.

The black “capacitor” came in the box.

I wire them up like this The black plastic capasitor is a thermal protector. It doesn’t matter which wire goes where, just slide the wires with the female connectors over the male post on the capacitor.

Cut the plastic connector off the Blue and Brown wire.

Skin them back, tie the brown wire and the black wire from your cord together. connect the green wire from you cord to the green ground on your switch, attach the white wire from your cord to one side of the switch, and conect the blue wire from the motor to the other side of the switch. I just use a standard single pole switch and a metal box, make sure all connections are tight, and no bare wires exsposed where they can short out.
