Hi,
I hope the forum is still alive. I’ve been pestering CoffeeGeeks and alt.coffee denizens too much lately in my vacillating quest for a large-capacity roaster.
I’m >< close to buying a new grill and drum. Are there any problems with using a grill for both cooking meat and for roasting coffee? If I leave the grill at a very high temperature for a few minutes, will it burn off the fat residue or such that might impact the roast quality? Or do I need to really scrub the grill clean before roasting coffee?
I live in a colder climate (Illinois), so I can’t just buy two $100 grills. I’d like to buy one $200 grill with 42k BTU burners and use it for cooking and roasting coffee.
Thanks,
-Paul
